Cybersecurity & Identity

Protect identities, privileged access and Microsoft environments with security architecture that can actually be implemented and maintained.

Accumulated permissions and inconsistent configuration make risks difficult to see. I connect security design with concrete measures for cloud, Active Directory and hybrid environments. Zero Trust is a design principle here, not a product promise.

Certification description at Microsoft

Microsoft's expert certification validates the ability to design security architecture based on Zero Trust principles – across identities, devices, data, applications and infrastructure as well as security operations. This foundation shapes the Cybersecurity & Identity services.

Security architecture & Zero Trust

Protection requirements, data flows and existing controls inform an appropriate architecture. Identities, devices and administrative access are considered together. Cloud and on-premises dependencies shape priorities rather than isolated configuration switches becoming the goal.

What we work towards: A documented target design with prioritised actions and clear reasons for technical decisions.

Entra ID: MFA, Conditional Access & PIM

I review roles, sign-in conditions and privileged permissions within the agreed scope. MFA and Conditional Access are planned with exceptions, emergency access and testing. Entra PIM can support time-limited activation and approvals for administrative roles.

What we work towards: A reviewable access model with agreed policies, exceptions and administrative responsibilities.

Active Directory: tiering & hardening

Administrative accounts, GPOs and privileged sign-in paths are examined systematically. AD tiering separates administrative levels in on-premises Active Directory. This alone is not sufficient for modern hybrid environments: the Enterprise Access Model also considers cloud, application and user access paths.

What we work towards: An environment-specific privileged access design, separated accounts and prioritised hardening measures.

Defender & security operations

Within the agreed scope, I assess existing Microsoft Defender configurations and how security alerts are handled. We examine visibility, responsibilities and current monitoring workflows. Recommendations depend on the products in use and the licences available.

What we work towards: Documented configuration findings and proposals for understandable analysis and escalation workflows.

Clearly scoped assessments

We first agree the starting point, review scope, access and permitted checks. The assessment is performed within those boundaries. You receive documented findings, their context, the limitations of the review and prioritised recommendations; implementation can follow as a separate engagement.

What we work towards: A practical basis for decisions, not a security certificate or a guarantee that every issue has been found.

PAM as a complementary scope

Where privileged access extends beyond Entra roles, we examine requirements for accounts, credentials and sessions. CyberArk or BeyondTrust can be considered when defining the technical scope. Product selection, integration requirements and specialist involvement are agreed per project.

What we work towards: A defined PAM requirement with prerequisites and next steps, without claiming vendor certification.

No round-the-clock SOC monitoring, security guarantee or blanket compliance assurance. Reviews, implementation and recurring support are explicitly scoped.

From the current situation to a maintainable solution.

  1. Initial conversation & analysis

We clarify your goals, existing systems and immediate problems. I assess the agreed starting point and identify dependencies and unanswered questions.

  2. Design & priorities

We agree a practical approach, priorities, scope and responsibilities. Effort, access requirements and potential effects are discussed before implementation.

  3. Implementation

I make the agreed changes transparently and test them within the defined scope. Approvals, maintenance windows and fallback options are planned with you.

  4. Documentation & optional support

Configurations, decisions and outstanding items are documented and handed over. Recurring support can be agreed separately where useful.
